The same basic principles have proven successful in 8, 12, and 14 foot models, both one and two man models. Everything in the boat is held together with contact cement (contact cement is waterproof).

3. Glide Easy 15\ Plywood Canoe: This design teams up plywood and fiberglass to product a tough, scrape-proof canoe you can build in one-tenth the time it would take you to turn out a conventional canoe. The use of only one frame offsets the extra weight of using plywood, so that this canoe is still light enough for comfortable storage.

4. Hunting Kayak: If you want to explore for game in the shallow waterways where noisy motorboats can\t go, this two seater is for you! For many years a favorite of hunters, trappers and traders in this country, the kayak now is as popular with Europeans as the outboard is with Americans. Although designed for two it can carry three. Gear can be stowed under the fore and after decks.

5. Canvasback Kayak: These plans show how to build the canvasback with just hand tools and C-clamps. The boat is stable in the water and even though it can be turned over, it won\t sink. It\s also light enough to be carried with ease. Build is so simple that the \jig\ consists of only two blocks and a few bricks. Apart from exterior plywood, boat grade spruce is the best lumber to use for canvasback. Ideal for youngsters.

6. King Canvasback Kayak: One of the most popular plans for canoe building. Fifteen feet long and 31 inch in beam, King Cancasback is an ideal father-and-son project. The craft is easily handled by one man and two boats can be car-topped on a small car. It takes only a few weekends to work from layout to launching.

7. Little Chief Canoe: This is a canoe with many virtues, ideally adapted to quick and easy construction. It has attractive molded lines and may be built either as a paddling model or with a slight changes it can be used with an outboard motor.

8. PakYak Kayak: This James Bondish invention fits into a pack for back country traveling. When your ready to go in the water just pull it out and put it together.

9. Pin Tail Canoe: As a duck boat, PinTail is a small and able, leak proof, light enough in weight to be handled by one man and versatile enough to serve as a year round fun boat for both children and adults.

10. Plyak Kayak: Comfortably seats two. Great for exploring rivers and lakes, this nimble lightweight craft is easily built from readily available plywood.

11. Redwood Canoe: You can build this 74 pound, 16 foot beauty for just 84$! For a canoe that is a real bargain. You use redwood strips that look amazing on the water. This is a proud boat that will make anyone like paddling.

12. Wackie Lassie Canoe: A double paddle canoe to be built and used by kids. Perfect for kids with heavy duty construction and padded sides. This boat is designed to be quickly built using modified Bolger/Payson \tack & tap\ construction methods, with techniques to minimize the use of hazardous materials and maximize suitable children skills.

13. Plywood Kayak: A simple and cost effective kayak for the beginner. Very good instructions.

14: Pod: This beautiful 15 foot rower is not technically a canoe as you row it but the shape and length make it a hybrid. Very nice design.

15. The West River: The West River is a very fast, multi chined kayak for the experienced paddler. Length is 17.5 feet so you can imagine how fast it can go if you have the strength!

16. The Chesapeake: This kayak handles very well in rough seas and strong beam winds. A combination of good handling, speed, solid tracking and large volume have made this a very popular kayak. The kayak is great for touring.

17. The Severn: The Severn is a small, ultralight flatwater kayak. It measures 14 feet, 7 inches by 25 inches and weighs 26 pounds. It\s best suited for paddlers weighing less than 180 pounds who are not too tall and have no wish to carry camping gear. It tracks well and can handle a fair chop. It is light weight and amazing efficiency make this kayak special.

18. The M-O Canoe Pattern: A very basic pattern for the M-O style canoe.

19. The RSDory: This classic dory can be rowed, sculled and even sailed. A must see. Very nice.

20. The Gypsy, Strip Built Canoe: While canoes have always had a greater appeal than perhaps any other type of boat, especially to those who like to hunt and fish, the thought of having to steam and bend in the fifty some odd ribs necessary in their construction discourages most men from attempting to build one. There are no bent ribs in this fifteen footer. It is edge nailed strip construction used with plywood bulkhead moulds. This is the same constuction used now in larger boats to give the strength and lightness.

21. The Dorette: An excellent little boat for fishing. You can even put a sail on it.

22. Dolly Varden Canoe: Lakers will like the smooth lines of Dolly Varden that scoots along with an outboard in the under 7 hp class in choppy or smooth water. Dolly is a strip boat fashioned like the hundreds of similiar boats build by craftsman of old school, and stil being used because strip construction turns out a tight, durable, cheap and easy to build boat that has real water kindliness and handling ability. Length is 13 or 15.5 feet and can hold up to 4 people. Weighs about 175 pounds.
